Rise From The Ashes...

So I finally got pictures from New Years from my friend Nicki. The night was fun and super low key. We started off at dinner at Mikuni, this AMAZING sushi restaurant in Sacramento.
I clearly had some gyoza...

This was our group...

It was an amazingly fun bunch of people. About four more joined us later on and we all pretty much drank and Nicki's until we passed out. This was the end of the night.
I swear it looks MUCH worse than it was. I think the camera just caught me with my eyes closed...and I was dancing? Sure. I'm 22...I'm allowed...right?

Anyway I ran into my roommate in the kitchen last night. In true Amanda fashion I didn't look her in the eye and didn't attempt to make small talk much. She then texted me (mature for a 36 year old isnt she?) that she didn't want "tension" in the house and hoped it would go away. Then preceded to text me hours later asking if we could meet for coffee one of these mornings. I informed her I couldn't (you see I unlike her cannot lay in bed all day and shirk my responsibilities, not all the time anyway). She would NOT let up and wanted to know if we could do lunch, or just catch up on the phone. I told her I had more important things to focus on and that I had neither the time nor the energy for anything so I could assure her there was no tension. That got her off my back for now. I am meeting with a guy about renting a room in his house at 4:30, cross your fingers.

The house seems amazing so I'm hoping it works out. So much so that I already crafted my good bye email to little miss roommate/demon spawn.

Maybe I'll attach it later. I'm feeling as though I've been too evil for today...

So there's this guy (alas the beginning to all good love stories no?)...
I can't remember if I've mentioned him. But we met in Vegas (I know I know, but it's not what you think!) through a mutual friend (see, told ya !). He is super nice, a paramedic, going to be a fireman (don't kid yourself, it's hot). He's a tad short for me, I mean he's taller than me, but if you know me my past tastes have been a bit amazon-ish. But he is very nice, or seems to be. And he pays me a lot of attention. And go figure, I like that. He lives in San Diego though, but is coming up to visit Sunday. He actually works Tuesday morning at 8 am (work?! who needs it I'm calling in "sick" for him Sunday!) so he is only staying until Monday night. But I convinced him to come sooner than we planned (Jan 22) so he is flying all this way for a short 48 hours...not even actually. He's still coming in a few weeks as well. We'll see how that goes. I could have had him come Saturday, but then he would have seen my recital and I'm not quite ready for that, in case I suck. It does make me think about (uh oh here it comes) Jesse though. He would have been at my recital, front row center. I think in the 2 years on the dace team, the at least 100 games and halftimes, appearances and crap too, he missed maybe 2 of them. He was at EVERYTHING. Half the time he came bearing gifts, energy drinks, flowers, food for everyone, my puppy once. I need to stop thinking about the good things...

Okay this post is getting long. And I'm sure there's some sort of work I can pretend to do today....

(PS I'm not totally emo, my blog titles just come from the song playing when I start writing...swear!)
